David Stricklen

David Stricklen’s 22 years as the Chief of Police for the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan, gave him a sense of adventure and problem-solving skills that he’s used to give his writing authenticity, blade-sharp action, and believability. Having two grown sons, with whom he has greatly enjoyed a myriad of escapades, has also added flavor and color to his stories.

Since his retirement from police work, David spends his time writing, helping former law enforcement associates with special security projects, and volunteering for various organizations such as Gilda’s Club and the YMCA. He also enjoys riding in bike tours and on the bike trails of West Michigan as well as speaking to kids about the creative process of writing.

David and his wife Cheryl live in the Grand Rapids area.
